Job summary

The Supply Register (on behalf of New College Durham) seeks an Electrical Installation Lecturer in Durham to deliver engaging lessons and guide learners in practical and theoretical aspects of electrical installation.

Role involves teaching across levels, supporting practical assessments, and preparing students for apprenticeships; safeguarding and professional standards are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain).
• Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards.
• Experience in Further Education or apprenticeship delivery is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain; safeguarding awareness.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

The Role

As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will deliver engaging lessons and support learners in developing the practical skills and knowledge required for careers in the electrical industry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering Electrical Installation lessons across a range of levels
• Supporting learners with practical workshop activities and assessments
• Preparing students for apprenticeships, industry placements and employment
• Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
• Promoting safeguarding, health & safety, and professional standards

What We're Looking For

• Relevant industry experience in Electrical Installation
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards
• Experience within Further Education or apprenticeship delivery (desirable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skillsEnhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
