Job summary

Abingdon and Witney College is seeking an ambitious Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Construction Trades team from September, delivering across Electrical Installation and T Level programmes. You will inspire learners, plan and assess learning experiences, and help students progress into apprenticeships and employment.

You will bring industry experience, a level 3 qualification in electrical installation or construction, and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards

Qualifications

• Qualified to level 3 or equivalent qualification in electrical installation or construction.
• Experience working within the electrical installation or wider construction industry.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• Assessor and/or Verifier qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes.
• Support the delivery of Foundation Level 2 Construction: Essential in Design and Planning.
• Prepare engaging learning resources and practical activities.
• Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback to support achievement.
• Support students to develop employability, English and maths skills.
• Act as a tutor, providing guidance and support to help learners achieve their career goals.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and industry partners to enhance student opportunities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and departmental objectives.
• Ensure learners have a clear pathway into apprenticeships, further study and employment.

Due to continued growth within our Electrical Installation provision and the introduction of our Foundation Level 2 Construction: Essential in Design and Planning programme, we are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our successful Construction Trades team from September.

This exciting new role offers the opportunity to inspire future electricians and construction professionals while delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation and T Level programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring excellent student achievement, progression and career outcomes, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and industry knowledge needed for apprenticeships and employment.
