Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Install Engineer for a field-based role covering Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and surrounding areas. You will service and maintain air conditioning systems, diagnose faults, and perform small installations as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Full Category 1 F-Gas qualification, has 3+ years of hands-on AC service experience, and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• F-Gas qualification with Full Category 1 Certification.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on field-based AC service and maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical schematics and mechanical components.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Service & maintenance: perform routine servicing and testing of air conditioning systems (VRV/VRF, multi-splits, AHUs).
• Fault finding: diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement first-time fixes where possible.
• Repairs & overhauls: replace components, recover refrigerant, perform system pressure testing safely.
• Compliance: complete digital service reports, worksheets and F-Gas logs accurately and promptly.
• Customer service: act as a brand ambassador and provide expert client advice.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £48,000
Key Responsibilities:

• Service & Maintenance: Perform routine servicing and testing of various air conditioning systems, including VRV, VRF, multi-splits, and AHUs.
• Fault Finding: Accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and execute first-time fixes where possible.
• Repairs & Overhauls: Carry out component replacements, refrigerant recovery, and system pressure testing safely and efficiently.
• Compliance: Complete all digital service reports, worksheets, and F-Gas logs accurately and in a timely manner.
• Customer Service: Act as a reliable brand ambassador, building strong relationships with clients and providing expert advice.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• F-Gas Qualification: Full Category 1 Certification (Catering to current UK environmental regulations).
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in a field-based AC service and maintenance role. To be able to carry out small installations and minor install projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical schematics, and mechanical components.
• Driving Licence: Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Professionalism: Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Remuneration:

• Salary £45,000 - £48,000pa depending on experience
