Job summary

UKRI's STFC Estates Services invites an Electrical Infrastructure Engineer (Authorised Person) to join the Utilities and Infrastructure team. You will oversee safe operation, maintenance and upgrades of high- and low-voltage networks across Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Chilbolton Observatory and The Cosener's House, applying STFC's safe systems of work.

Reporting to the Estates Building Services Authorising Engineer, you will manage asset integrity, undertake risk assessments, coordinate

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or equivalent).
• City and Guilds 2391/94/95 inspection and testing.
• IET Wiring Regulations (to the latest standard).

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day implementation of STFC's safe systems of work for all networks.
• Operate high- and low-voltage site electrical networks and ensure power reliability.
• Manage power infrastructure assets and delineation of duties between Estates and scientific departments.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and procedures, including permits and isolation.
• Assist in audits of safe systems of work and contractor method statements.
• Support training pathways and succession planning within the department.
• Oversee upgrades and maintenance, coordinating shutdowns and stakeholder communication.
• Maintain up-to-date schematics, labeling and safety information.
