Job summary

Trant Engineering is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare electrical and ICA cost estimates for process and water sector tenders, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accurate forecasting and bid competitiveness.

The role involves inputting scope of work, attending site visits, developing procurement packages, pricing using Candy/Conquest/Causeway, and managing risk registers while coordinating with procurement and project teams. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Experience as an Estimator in engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of Process (waste water) and/or Water (drinking water) treatment processes and technologies.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical and ICA cost estimates for tenders within the Process and Water sector using Amtech/Trimble, plus costing with RIB Candy.
• Identify risks, capture in a risk register, and support margin analysis and bid strategy discussions.
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain for accurate pricing and ensure alignment with bid strategy.
• Maintain cost databases, benchmarks, and templates, and contribute to process improvements in estimating.
