Job summary

Fidra Energy seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and deliver grid-connected assets across the UK. You will work across feasibility, concept design, grid connection, procurement and pre-construction with a strong focus on HV/EHV systems, protection and network compliance.

The role involves collaboration with development, commercial and investment teams as well as external consultants to assess options, manage risks and ensure technical and commercial alignment for large-scale

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electrical Power Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in the UK power industry (transmission/distribution).
• Strong understanding of LV-MV-HV-EHV systems and protection.
• Knowledge of Grid/Distribution Codes and G99/G100.
• Experience with power system studies and FAT/commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for HV/EHV connections and substations.
• Lead or support grid connection applications and negotiations.
• Assess technical constraints affecting project viability and cost.
• Interface between internal teams and external consultants/OEMs.
• Review third-party designs for technical compliance.
