Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer to support critical electrical and instrumentation systems across Bristol and surrounding areas.

You will install, commission, maintain and repair LV systems, motors, transformers and standby generators while ensuring safety and compliance. A starting salary of £49,500 plus a company vehicle and overtime opportunities awaits a qualified professional.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain LV systems, motors, transformers, actuators, standby generators and plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to ensure reliability and performance.
• Prepare reports and provide technical support to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and completed work.
• Support contractors and third-party suppliers as required.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve objectives.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and standards.

Overview

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading gas infrastructure businesses, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of energy services across the South West.

What you'll be doing:

• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair work on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain and support LV systems, motors, transformers, actuators, standby generators and associated plant equipment.
• Complete planned maintenance activities whilst ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to ensure equipment reliability and operational performance.
• Prepare reports and provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work.
• Support and oversee contractors and third-party suppliers where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments to achieve operational objectives.
• Keep up to date with industry developments, technical standards and best practice.

What we'll need from you:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working as an Electrical Field Service Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of relevant engineering standards, regulations and safe systems of work.
• Comfortable using IT systems including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 standby rota.
• Compex EX01-04 and instrumentation experience would be advantageous.
