Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in Electrical Field Service Engineer/maintenance roles.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair work on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain and support LV systems and related equipment.
• Complete planned maintenance activities ensuring safety compliance.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to ensure reliability.
• Prepare reports and provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Support and oversee contractors and third-party suppliers.

Overview

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading gas infrastructure businesses, supporting the safe and reliable delivery of energy services across the South West.

We're looking for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join the Engineering team, carrying out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair work across a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems. This role would suit a qualified electrician or electrical engineer who enjoys a hands-on position, working across varied sites and equipment whilst developing their technical expertise.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair work on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain and support LV systems, motors, transformers, actuators, standby generators and associated plant equipment.
• Complete planned maintenance activities whilst ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to ensure equipment reliability and operational performance.
• Prepare reports and provide technical support and guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work.
• Support and oversee contractors and third-party suppliers where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments to achieve operational objectives.
• Keep up to date with industry developments, technical standards and best practice.

What we'll need from you

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience working as an Electrical Field Service Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of relevant engineering standards, regulations and safe systems of work.
• Comfortable using IT systems including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 standby rota.
• Compex EX01-04 and instrumentation experience would be advantageous.
