Job summary

Bridge Recruitment UK Limited in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join an established team. You will prepare cost estimates for busbar, transformers, underfloor busbar, and desk power systems, and interpret drawings and specs to produce BOMs and commercial offers.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience in electrical estimating, and the ability to support tenders from enquiry through to submission while ensuring compliance and commercial competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an electrical estimating role.
• Experience with power distribution systems is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for busbar, transformers, underfloor busbar, and desk power systems.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules.
• Complete quantity take-offs and project scope assessments.
• Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ensure estimates are technically compliant and commercially competitive.
• Prepare clear commercial offers covering costs, specifications, lead times, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Support tenders from enquiry through to submission.
• Respond to client queries and post-tender clarifications.
• Ensure accurate and timely submissions.
• Review project documentation against client requirements.
• Identify risks, discrepancies, and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Work with technical and sales teams to validate solutions.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.
• Ensure BOMs and quotations are traceable and auditable.
• Maintain pricing data and costing templates.
• Support improvements to estimating processes and tools.
• Strong knowledge of busbar and underfloor power distribution systems.
• Basic knowledge of cast resin transformers.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications.

Electrical Estimator

Location: Birmingham.

Salary: £50,000 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours a week.

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating tools.
