Job summary

Clearpath Consultancy in Birmingham is seeking an Electrical Estimator to start immediately. You will produce cost estimates for mechanical and electrical projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, working with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to deliver competitive tenders.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years (intermediate) or 5+ years (senior) in M&E estimating, strong Excel skills, and experience with estimating software.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in M&E estimating (intermediate)
• 5+ years' experience leading estimating on complex projects (senior)
• Background in M&E installations within construction
• Proficient in estimating software and strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of contracts and tender processes
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to produce accurate estimates
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for mechanical and electrical services
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for best pricing
• Prepare tender submissions and meet deadlines
• Assess project risks and propose cost-saving solutions
• Collaborate with design and project teams to align estimates with requirements
• Maintain and update cost databases with current market trends
