Job summary

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical specifications and drawings, familiarity with estimating software and MS Office, and the ability to work under pressure while communicating effectively with clients and teams across the UK construction

We are seeking an experienced BMS Electrical Estimator to join a growing team in Watford. Your focus is on producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, working closely with sales, suppliers, and contractors. You'll need to combine technical expertise with strong organisational skills, ensuring all tenders and proposals are fully compliant and delivered to deadline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for proposed projects based on specifications and project diagrams.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to develop competitive tenders.
• Liaise with client representatives, contractors, suppliers, and consultants as required.
• Undertake project-specific estimating work in line with departmental needs.
• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of electrical materials, equipment, and plant.
• Review and authorise purchase orders and invoices in line with procedures.
• Support continuous improvement by contributing to post-costing reviews of completed projects.
• Attend meetings, training, and industry events where necessary.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven background in electrical estimating, ideally with exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Strong understanding of electrical specifications, project diagrams, and drawings.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and suppliers.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
