Job summary

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Technician (Electrical) to join the Estates team and keep critical plant and building services safe and reliable across all sites. The role focuses on electrical systems maintenance, fault diagnosis, and supporting mechanical/electrical staff and contractors within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical trade.
• Evidence of CPD
• BTEC, ONC/HNC in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience e.g. time served tradesman.
• Current Competent Person certificate in various technical systems such as low voltage electrical, medical gas, decontamination, etc.
• Electrical AM2

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for mechanical/electrical staff and contractors ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
• Undertake complex fault diagnosis on mechanical and electrical services and fault rectification, maintenance and M&E installation work for the Trust.
• Undertake special departmental projects as identified by the Estates Manager, Estates Officers and or Team Leaders.

Education

Recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical trade

C&G or NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent

Evidence of CPD

BTEC, ONC/HNC in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Current Competent Person certificate in various technical systems such as low voltage electrical, medical gas, decontamination, etc.
