Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Electrical Assistant to support safe, responsive electrical maintenance across all sites. You will perform planned maintenance and reactive repairs, assist with installations, and ensure compliance with HTMs and statutory regulations while coordinating with clinical staff to minimise disruption.

The role emphasises teamwork within the Estates and Facilities Department, handling on-call duties and maintaining accurate maintenance

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on electrical systems and associated building services in accordance with Trust policies, HTMs, British Standards and statutory regulations.
• Assist with maintenance, repair and installation of electrical infrastructure, including lighting, emergency lighting, small power, nurse call systems and other essential engineering services.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, identify faults and escalate complex issues to the appropriate competent person or team leader.
• Support statutory maintenance programmes to ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance of engineering systems.
• Assist with electrical installations, enabling works and minor projects under supervision of qualified staff.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports and timesheets using the Trust's systems.
• Collaborate with estates trades and contractors to deliver an integrated maintenance service across hospital sites.
