Job summary

Vax is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to build an in-house capability from the ground up in Droitwich, Worcestershire. You will set the electrical direction for next-generation products with autonomy to assemble your team.

Reporting to leadership, you will own the architecture, roadmap, and hands-on prototyping, while recruiting and mentoring engineers and managing supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics and embedded systems with depth in sensors, motor control or power electronics.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing of proofs of concepts.
• Experience leading a technical team, or ready to step up.
• Practical supplier engagement beyond just sending a spec.

Responsibilities

• Set electrical architecture and technology roadmap for next generation products.
• Drive sensor, motor control and power electronics development as the technical core.
• Prototype, build and test concepts hands-on at the bench.
• Lead supplier technical relationships, including site visits and overseas travel.
• Recruit, build and mentor a new in-house Advanced Electrical Engineering team.
