Job summary

Vax is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer in Droitwich Spa to bring future product concepts to life by blending mechanical, electrical and embedded technologies into intelligent proofs of concept. You will rapidly build and test demonstrators that reduce risk and accelerate learning across engineering disciplines.

You’ll work at the front end of innovation, partnering with Advanced Development and Design teams to deliver integrated consumer solutions, using hands-on engineering to prototype,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in electromechanical or consumer product development in Advanced Development or NPD.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering and embedded systems.
• Experience prototyping with development boards and rapid tooling.
• Able to write embedded software or scripts to demonstrate ideas.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly integrate mechanical, electrical and embedded tech into product concepts.
• Design, build and validate demonstrators showing sensing and automation.
• Develop experimental rigs and prototypes to answer engineering questions.
• Collaborate with design and advanced development teams to integrate systems.
• Troubleshoot multidisciplinary systems and work with suppliers.
