Job summary
Hoare Lea in Oxford is looking for an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer to deliver high-quality, sustainable electrical design across diverse built-environment projects. The Oxford office provides a local presence and leverages broad expertise in science, healthcare and research sectors, while embracing hybrid working and development opportunities.
You will own project deliverables, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients, and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering.
- Working towards or holding IEng/CEng.
- Experience with LV distribution, lighting, and earthing.
- Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Dialux, and OM Electrical.
- Able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients/contractors.
- Experience in site checks, testing, and commissioning.
- Strong commitment to meeting programmes and quality standards.
- Mentoring junior staff and supporting project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Take briefs and deliver electrical design from inception to completion.
- Produce calculations, drawings and documentation to standards.
- Coordinate electrical design with MEP and specialist groups.
- Review contractor submissions and site installations.
- Attend design and project meetings and report progress.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities.
- Manage own workload to meet programme milestones.
- Support junior staff development.
