Electrical Engineer - Power Networks
Location: Belfast Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
VANRATH are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a major infrastructure organisation in Belfast.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in the development and management of HV and LV electrical infrastructure, supporting major capital projects, asset management and energy efficiency initiatives across a large and complex estate.
The Role
- Lead the development of HV and LV electrical infrastructure in line with long-term strategic plans.
- Provide technical engineering expertise across electrical infrastructure and major capital projects.
- Develop and maintain electrical power capacity and capability models to support future development.
- Lead electrical and M&E projects from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications, tender documentation and procurement activities.
- Manage and develop the organisation's electricity metering network, supporting energy management and commercial objectives.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure electrical safety, legislative compliance and engineering standards are maintained across all projects.
- Work closely with internal teams, contractors, consultants and other key stakeholders.
- Support the development of capital budgets and ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Minimum 5 years' experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project and asset management processes.
- Experience with procurement, tender documentation and Conditions of Contract.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how technical decisions impact business performance.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and provide technical leadership.
- Full driving licence.
Experience within port, estate or large-scale infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous.
