Job summary

JN Bentley Ltd in the South of England seeks an Electrical Engineer to help deliver water and infrastructure projects on site across Poole, Dorset, and Bournemouth. You will shape electrical functions from concept through commissioning, integrating electrical considerations into the lifecycle of each project.

You will coordinate with clients, contractors and engineers, ensure BS7671 compliance, and support safety plans, RAMS and QA processes.

Qualifications

• CSCS, ECS or JIB certification is required.
• SSSTS/SMSTS (or equivalent) certification preferred.
• Working toward professional registration is expected.
• HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical procedures and permits.
• Knowledge of civil MEICA construction principles and standards.
• Ability to read SLDs and electrical drawings with accuracy.
• Familiarity with UK/international standards (Client & WIMES).
• Strong organisation, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients, system integrators and cabling contractors across instrumentation, networks, LVDBs/MCCs, PLCs and SCADA; plan electrical installation and commissioning.
• Support pre-construction through surveys, scoping and procurement; oversee construction-phase activities including outages and subcontractors.
• Produce SSOW, outage plans and RAMS; drive QA through ITPs, docs, and defect management with BS7671 compliance.
• Lead functional commissioning of electrical assets and manage As Constructed docs; support project completion.
• Develop Electrical Engineers and build strong client relationships to achieve project outcomes.
