Job summary

JCB is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop high voltage electrical systems for heavy duty vehicles and more, using CAD tools and contributing to system architectures.

The role requires experience in off-highway or automotive electrical design, a relevant HND, and familiarity with Zuken E3 and Siemens NX. It offers a permanent, full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience in off-highway or automotive electrical system design.
• Proficient or keen to become proficient in Zuken E3 and Siemens NX.
• Solid understanding of machine electrical components and harness architectures for offroad applications.
• Knowledge of vehicle legislation and standards across the UK, Europe, and Rest of World.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing high voltage electrical systems for heavy duty vehicles (12V–600V).
• Developing 12V and 24V electrical systems for standard vehicle applications.
• Using CAD tools to define vehicle electrical wiring systems: Zuken E3 and Siemens NX.
• Supporting the definition and development of electrical and electronic system architecture.
• Applying safety critical design principles for offhighway electrical and electronic systems.
• Producing technical specifications and engineering instructions.
