Job summary

Sev.en Steel UK Ltd in the Ham area is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Sections Mill with large-scale electrical plant and equipment.

You will plan electrical activities, lead maintenance and supervise electrical technicians while coordinating with engineers from other disciplines to ensure the process runs smoothly and safely. This role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement in a heavy industry setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum HNC).
• Experience of SCADA/HMI and PLC systems.
• Strong knowledge and experience of large AC/DC motor controls, inverters and converters.
• Hands-on engineer who will do what it takes to keep the plant running.
• Experience of leading and developing successful teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage electrical activities, e.g. maintenance, shut-downs, or repairs.
• Undertake development performance reviews for electrical craftspeople.
• Ensure risk assessments, method statements and permits are created and followed.
• Estimate cost, time, and resources for repair and improvement projects.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines and shift managers.
