Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of electronics engineering experience in advanced engineering, industrial equipment, energy, automation, aerospace, robotics, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware, including analog and digital circuits and embedded control systems.
  • Produce system architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed electrical designs using CAD tools.
  • Develop environmental and reliability test programs including temperature, vibration and stress testing.
  • Prototype bring-up, functional testing and performance evaluation.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults at component and system levels using lab equipment.
  • Support field operations with technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Define validation requirements and develop test plans and equipment.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, systems, firmware and manufacturing engineers across the product lifecycle.
  • Promote Health, Safety and Environmental culture across activities.

Job description

Location: Greater Bristol, UK (Hybrid/On-site)

A fast-growing international engineering company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the development of next-generation industrial systems designed to operate in some of the world's most demanding environments.

Working within a multidisciplinary team spanning Europe and the Americas, you will play a key role in the design, testing and validation of sophisticated electronic systems used in high-performance industrial equipment. The Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will take ownership of electronic hardware development from concept through validation and manufacturing support. The successful candidate will combine strong design expertise with hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electronic hardware, including analog and digital circuits and embedded control systems.
  • Produce system architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed electrical designs using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Develop and execute environmental and reliability test programmes, including temperature, vibration and stress testing.
  • Perform prototype bring-up, functional testing and performance evaluation.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults at both component and system levels using oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers and other lab equipment.
  • Support field operations teams by providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Define validation requirements and develop comprehensive test plans, procedures and test equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, firmware and manufacturing engineers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Promote a strong Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture across all activities.
About You
  • 10+ years of electronics engineering experience within advanced engineering, industrial equipment, energy, automation, aerospace, robotics, or other complex technology environments.
  • Strong experience in motor control electronics, including motor drivers and position-feedback systems.
  • Experience designing and testing switched-mode power supplies and DC-DC converter topologies, including Buck, Boost and Flyback designs.
  • Solid understanding of analogue and digital signal conditioning, filtering and sensor integration.
  • Hands-on experience with a range of industrial sensors and measurement systems.
  • Proficiency with electronics simulation, PCB design and electrical CAD tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver engineering projects against challenging schedules.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
