Job summary

Aztrum is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a hybrid role based in London or Cambridge. You will design, develop and deliver electrical solutions from concept through commissioning, working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

You will produce technical drawings and documentation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support procurement, testing and commissioning activities across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects.
• Produce calculations, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Create and review single-line diagrams, schematics and cable schedules.
• Support LV distribution, control systems and equipment design.
• Ensure designs meet regulations and client requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings.
• Provide engineering support through procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and clients to deliver on time and budget.

Electrical Engineer

London or Cambridge (Hybrid)

Our client is a well-established international engineering organisation with nearly 30 years of experience delivering specialist engineering solutions across the UK, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Operating across sectors including energy, industrial, infrastructure, telecommunications and construction, they have built a strong reputation for high-quality, innovative and cost-effective engineering services.

With continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they're looking to strengthen their engineering team by appointing an Electrical Engineer, based in either London or Cambridge, to support delivery of a wide range of technically challenging projects.

The Role

As Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key part in designing, developing and delivering electrical engineering solutions from concept through to commissioning. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards.

This hybrid role offers exposure to varied engineering projects while you build your technical expertise in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical engineering solutions across a range of industrial and infrastructure projects
• Produce electrical calculations, technical specifications and engineering documentation
• Create and review single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules and electrical layouts
• Support the design and specification of LV electrical distribution, control systems and associated equipment
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, industry standards and client requirements
• Take part in technical reviews, project meetings and design verification activities
• Provide engineering support through procurement, installation, testing and commissioning
• Work alongside internal engineering teams, suppliers and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovative engineering solutions
• Support technical problem-solving and fault investigation where needed

About You

• A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Design Engineer
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and relevant British and international standards
• Experience producing technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar design software would be advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams
• The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively
