We have a current opportunity for an Electrical Engineer on a contract basis for a 6-12 month project assignment with the possibility of extension upon successful completion of the project. The position will be based in East Kilbride with an engineering and construction company.

Responsibilities:

• Design electrical systems to relevant IEC standards
• Perform lighting calculations using relevant software
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
• Ensure electrical designs meet safety codes and regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and instrumentation engineers
• Provide technical support to the tendering and project teams
• Review and approve installation drawings and diagrams
• Review and validate vendor designs and documentation, including mechanical packages and motors (1kW to 3000kW)
• Coordinate with staff to ensure cost-effective development and execution of the project
• Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to ensure contractual requirements are met safely and cost-effectively

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (IEC), and safety practices
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant design software
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of designing systems in hazardous areas
