Job summary

Winner Recruitment is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a facilities team at a large industrial site in Durham. The role focuses on building services and electrical infrastructure maintenance, with responsibilities across planned and reactive tasks.

This temp-to-perm opportunity offers a clear path to a permanent position and long-term stability. You'll work Monday to Friday, 6:30am–3:30pm, with no night shifts, in a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer / Electrician.
• Experience within commercial, industrial or facilities/building maintenance.
• Good knowledge of electrical building services.
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance requirements.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant electrical qualifications, ideally 18th Edition.
• A recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to reactive electrical maintenance issues
• Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out repairs
• Maintaining electrical systems and building services
• Carrying out lighting repairs and replacements

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their facilities and maintenance team at a large industrial building in Durham.

The role will focus on building services and facilities maintenance, rather than machinery or production equipment. You'll be responsible for carrying out both reactive and planned electrical maintenance across the site, ensuring the building and its electrical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to secure a long-term permanent position with an established organisation.

The Role
