Job summary

Ameon is seeking a junior to mid-level Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our design team on UK projects. You’ll assist in designing, coordinating and delivering electrical systems across commercial, residential and public sector schemes, learning from senior engineers.

Working across RIBA stages 4-5, you’ll prepare drawings, calculations and specifications, review layouts with AutoCAD and Revit, and help ensure compliance with BS7671 and Building Regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of building services or construction experience.
• Degree or working towards in Electrical/Building Services Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of electrical systems across RIBA Stage 4-5 commercial, residential, and public sector projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Work collaboratively with mechanical and electrical colleagues to deliver coordinated MEP designs.
• Assist in ensuring designs comply with BS7671, Building Regulations, and other relevant standards.
• Attend design and coordination meetings with project teams and clients.
• Contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.

You’ll be part of a talented and forward-thinking design team, working on a variety of exciting projects across the UK. You’ll assist in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building services, while gaining valuable experience from senior engineers and project leads.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of electrical systems across RIBA Stage 4-5 commercial, residential, and public sector projects.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree (or working towards) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Some experience (e.g. 2+ years) in a building services or construction environment.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, or similar software.
• Understanding of LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and power systems.
• Enthusiasm to develop technical and professional skills.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
