Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our facilities team at the Southbank Centre. You will plan, inspect and perform maintenance across a range of environments, including offices and industrial premises, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds electrical qualifications, a current CSCS card, and experience with BMS systems. The role requires day and night shift flexibility and a strong focus on documentation and statutory

Qualifications

• Craft qualification with City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 + AM2.
• Wiring regulations qualification to 18th Edition (2381-18).
• Valid and in-date CSCS card or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect and carry out repairs or preventive maintenance and respond to breakdowns promptly.
• Carry out reactive and planned services in offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises.
• Perform basic plumbing, carpentry and minor repair tasks while maintaining health and safety standards.
• Carry out statutory inspections (Emergency Lighting, Water Temp checks, Fire Door, Plumbing, Lighting) and minor repairs.
• Provide technical guidance to the client and contract team; support sub-contractors on site.
• Record work accurately on worksheets and computer systems; uphold site documentation.

About The Role

Shift Pattern: 4 Days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 Nights on, 4 Nights off

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team working one of our key contracts at the Southbank Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns in a timely fashion.
• Carry out reactive and planned services in a range of environments from offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises.
• Trade skills are desirable or previous experience performing In a similar role
• Carrying out statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checks including basic replacements and other minor reactive works.
• Being an ambassador for the customer; dealing professionally with complaints and queries
• support engineer sub-contractors upon attending site.
• Providing technical guidance to the client and contract support
• Carrying out minor building fabric repairs
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and in line with Health & Safety legislation.
• Upkeeping of site documentation

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• You must have the right to work in the UK
• Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• Ability to work days and night shifts
• Experience in a comparable role undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm inspections with a good understanding of Health & Safety working practices
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements; along with issuing permit to work for hard service tasks
• Experience using BMS system.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would be desirable
• Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems

Essential Qualifications

• A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering + AM2
• The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18 th Edition)
• Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

• An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
