Job summary

Dovetail and Slate seeks a Technical Instructor (Instrumentation or Electronics biased) based in Kent. This permanent role involves delivering practical, hands-on training to learners in electrical and electronic engineering and guiding them toward industry qualifications.

You will work with a teaching team to bring workshop knowledge to life, supervise sessions, and provide feedback while maintaining a safe, well‑organized workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in electrical or electronic engineering, gained through industry experience.
• A Level 3 engineering qualification is required.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support learners of differing abilities.
• A commitment to high standards of health and safety in a workshop setting.

Responsibilities

• Delivering practical instruction and demonstrations in electrical and electronic engineering.
• Supporting learners as they develop the technical skills required for their programmes.
• Preparing workshop equipment, materials and resources ahead of sessions.
• Assessing learners' practical work and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining a safe, well‑organised and productive workshop environment.
• Working with colleagues to help learners achieve their qualifications and progress.
