Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the North East is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Lecturer to deliver practical, workshop-based teaching to learners pursuing electrical qualifications. You will help students build hands-on skills, technical knowledge and confidence to succeed in the industry.

You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions that blend theory with practical activity, supporting learners at different stages of development.

Qualifications

Significant industry experience in electrical installation or maintenance.
Relevant electrical engineering qualification (such as City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
A commitment to safe working practices.
Desirable: teaching qualification (such as PGCE, DET or PTLLS).
Previous experience delivering training or mentoring apprentices.
Experience with electrical installation standards (such as BS 7671).

Responsibilities

Planning and delivering workshop‑based lessons in electrical installation and maintenance.
Demonstrating safe working practices and industry‑standard techniques.
Assessing learner progress and providing constructive, developmental feedback.
Preparing learners for practical assessments and examinations.
Maintaining a safe, well‑organised workshop environment, including tools and equipment.
Keeping up to date with industry standards and developments in electrical practice.
