Job description

Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technician – Full-Time or Part Time Opportunities – FE College – Permanent – Uxbridge
Role: Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technician
Salary: £25,928 to £29,815 per annum including London Weighting - pro-rata for part time posts
Location: Uxbridge, London
Contract: Permanent – Full time (36 hours) / Part time (21.6 hours) – 52 weeks per year
Working pattern for the part time post will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
Deadline: 23rd April 2025

At Clarus Education, we are supporting a FE college who are seeking Electrical & Electronic Technicians to support students and staff in their Electrical / Electronic Engineering section.

You would be expected to:

  1. Prepare and maintain equipment for use by lecturing staff and students
  2. Demonstrate the use of equipment and support the teaching teams in their delivery of the curriculum
  3. Supervise students in the workshop ensuring that they comply with health and safety requirements and good workshop practice

You will need to:

  1. Possess a Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  2. Have relevant experience in this area and the ability to work effectively with young people aged 16 – 19
  3. Have a good understanding of health and safety requirements
  4. Have good communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

  1. Level 3 qualification in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Relevant experience in the area of Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  2. Up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety requirements applied to workshop environment
  3. Good communication skills, written and verbal
  4. Good interpersonal skills
  5. Experience of working in a training environment or with young people
  6. Ability to work effectively with vocational learners aged 16-19
  7. IT skills or willingness to develop them
  8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  9. Continuing professional development
  10. Self-motivation
  11. Understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding within education
  12. Commitment to learners and learner achievement
