Job summary

Full Circle Technical Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for the UK water sector. The role supports multiple projects, producing electrical design documentation and aiding specification, procurement and inspection of control panels and equipment.

The position allows London or remote work within the UK, with travel to fabricators as needed. Ideal candidates will have experience with electrical schedules and technical documentation, plus familiarity with water/utility

Qualifications

• Experience producing electrical schedules, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience with the specification, procurement or inspection of control panels.
• Experience within water, wastewater, utilities or a similar industrial environment.
• Experience with contractor or design-and-build environments would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce and develop electrical design documentation across multiple projects.
• Prepare electrical schedules, technical specifications and associated design deliverables.
• Support the specification and procurement of control panels and related electrical equipment.
• Review supplier and panel manufacturer documentation.
• Attend panel fabricators for inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing as required.
• Work with project, process, mechanical and commissioning teams throughout delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, clients and project stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and client requirements.
• Manage design activities across several concurrent projects.
• Work independently after induction and provide technical guidance to the team.

Electrical Design Engineer – Water Sector

Location: London / Remote UK

Engagement: Permanent or Contract

Competitive salary / contract rate depending on experience

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering projects across the UK water sector.

The role will involve working across multiple projects, producing electrical design documentation and supporting the specification, procurement and inspection of control panels and associated equipment.

This opportunity could suit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, Senior Electrical Engineer or Principal-level candidate, depending on background and experience. For more senior applicants, there is scope to take on greater technical responsibility within the team.

The position can be offered on either a permanent or contract basis and can be based from London or remotely within the UK. Travel to panel fabricators and other project locations will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and develop electrical design documentation across multiple projects.
• Prepare electrical schedules, technical specifications and associated design deliverables.
• Support the specification and procurement of control panels and related electrical equipment.
• Review supplier and panel manufacturer documentation.
• Attend panel fabricators for inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing as required.
• Work closely with project, process, mechanical and commissioning teams throughout project delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, project specifications and client requirements.
• Manage design activities across several concurrent projects.
• Work independently following an initial induction and familiarisation period.
• For more experienced candidates, provide technical guidance and support to the wider engineering team.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience producing electrical schedules, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience with the specification, procurement or inspection of control panels.
• Previous experience within water, wastewater, utilities, process engineering or a similar industrial environment.
• Experience working for a contractor, design and build environment, engineering business, systems integrator or equipment supplier would be advantageous.
• The ability to manage your own workload and work with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• The ability to travel to panel fabricators and project locations across the UK.
• A full UK driving licence would be highly advantageous as some travel for site visits may not be accessible for public transport.
