Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Design & Build contractor delivering major UK Water and Wastewater schemes. Location: UK wide with hybrid working to a local office, potentially up to 4 days from home.

Rate is based on experience and the role covers the full design lifecycle on AMP-focused projects. You will deliver electrical feasibility, outline and detailed designs, review technical submissions, and provide guidance to

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering projects through the full design lifecycle (inception to detailed design).
• UK Water/Wastewater sector experience and AMP-related projects.
• Ability to lead smaller work packages and provide technical guidance within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver feasibility, outline, detailed and final electrical design work.
• Review electrical designs, specifications, proposals and submissions.
• Take technical responsibility for smaller projects and work packages.
• Support key design reviews for AMP projects and major schemes.
• Work on Water treatment works, Wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs.
• Provide electrical design input to multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
• Support projects from concept through to delivery.

Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Are you a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer looking for a new challenge on major UK Water and Wastewater treatment schemes?

You will be working with a leading Design & Build contractor delivering major clean and wastewater projects across a range of frameworks nationwide. With projects and design teams supporting Water Authority AMP programmes throughout the UK, they are looking to recruit additional electrical design support across their regional teams.

If you are not based close to one of their offices, they can consider a more flexible arrangement for the right candidate, with travel to an office or site potentially required just once a fortnight.

As a Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be supporting Water and Wastewater treatment projects across the full design lifecycle, from feasibility and outline design through to detailed and final design. You will be working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, reviewing technical designs and submissions and helping ensure electrical solutions are practical, compliant and ready for successful delivery.

You will be:

• Delivering feasibility, outline, detailed and final electrical design work.
• Reviewing electrical designs, technical specifications, proposals and submissions.
• Taking technical responsibility for smaller projects, work packages and design tasks.
• Supporting key design reviews for Water Authority AMP projects.
• Working on Water treatment works, Wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated water infrastructure.
• Providing technical guidance and electrical design input to multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Supporting projects from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.

To be considered, you will need:

• An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience delivering projects through the full design lifecycle, from inception through to detailed design.
• Previous UK Water or Wastewater sector experience.
• Experience working on AMP-related projects for a UK Water Authority.
• Experience using 3D design tools and other relevant proprietary engineering software.
• The ability to take technical responsibility for smaller projects and individual work packages.
• Experience designing electrical solutions for Water treatment works, Wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs or associated water infrastructure.

This Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer role offers the opportunity to take on greater technical responsibility within an established engineering team while contributing to major Water and Wastewater projects across the UK.
