Job summary

Ampira Energy Limited is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design electrical components and control systems for power-testing equipment used in demanding industrial environments.

Working with mechanical, systems and software engineers, you will take concepts through to manufacturing, supporting prototype development, testing and documentation including BOMs and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Experience in electrical design or control panel development.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring systems and associated design practices.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and workload management skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into electrical specifications and system definitions.
• Create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Select suitable electrical components considering standards, availability and cost.
• Collaborate with mechanical and systems engineering teams for system integration.
• Work with external vendors and manufacturing partners during production and assembly.
• Present technical ideas and support prototype development and testing.
• Produce detailed electrical documentation, including layout drawings and calculations.
• Coordinate with mechanical designers to ensure timely delivery of integrated designs.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials and supporting technical documentation.
