Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group Plc is seeking a Test Engineer to join a well-established engineering manufacturer. The role involves hands-on electrical acceptance testing of large industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality standards before dispatch.

You will collaborate with Electrical, Production, Quality and Engineering teams to deliver reliable testing solutions and drive continuous improvements within the test facility.

Qualifications

• Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.
• Previous experience carrying out electrical testing within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of electrical power systems and large-scale test equipment.
• Experience working to engineering procedures, quality plans and technical specifications.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety within a safety-critical environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical acceptance testing on large industrial electrical equipment.
• Perform high-voltage testing in accordance with engineering procedures and safety regulations.
• Accurately record, analyse and report test results against customer specifications and engineering standards.
• Produce detailed test documentation and ensure results are recorded within company systems.
• Support the development and improvement of testing methods, data acquisition systems and test procedures.
• Ensure all testing equipment is correctly maintained, calibrated and fit for purpose.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to coordinate testing activities and meet project deadlines.
• Investigate faults identified during testing and support root cause analysis where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, quality and safety.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

The Candidate
