Job summary

PE Global is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading multinational manufacturer based in Peterborough. The role is a 12-month, fully onsite contract in Peterborough.

The candidate will translate requirements into detailed electrical designs for electrified systems, create schematics, harness definitions, and 3D routing while ensuring integration at machine level. Collaboration with project, build and validation teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience delivering electrical design work in a product development environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of harness architecture and release, including component selection and manufacturing documentation.
• Experience using Creo for harness routing and drawing creation.
• Able to produce clear, controlled engineering documentation and work within design-change processes, with HV electrical safety understanding.

Responsibilities

• Translate system requirements into electrical designs for electrified machine systems.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness definitions.
• Ensure designs integrate at machine level, resolving routing and interface constraints.
• Collaborate with project, build and validation teams throughout development.
• Investigate build/integration issues and implement robust design solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds and engineering change activities.
• Support machine build, commissioning and validation programmes.
• Work across multiple projects in a dynamic development environment.
