Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join a fast-paced team in Peterborough on a 12-month contract, focusing on electrified machines and prototypes. This hands-on role covers concept to validation.

You'll work across mechanical and electrical design, collaborate with project, build and validation groups, and drive designs into physical hardware.

Onsite five days a week; rate £36.55 per hour; Inside IR35; Duration 12 months.

Qualifications

• Experience in both mechanical and electrical design.
• Experience in a product development environment.
• Experience taking designs from concept through to detailed design and integration.
• Experience with engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Background in automotive, off-highway, heavy-duty equipment or similar.
• Experience working on prototype, demonstrator or pre-production products.
• Creo CAD experience is highly desirable.
• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem solving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

• Design Engineer - 12-Month Contract


• Location: Peterborough


• Rate: £36.55 per hour


• Inside IR35


• Duration: 12 months


• Working pattern: 5 days onsite

We're currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team in Peterborough, working on the development of electrified machines and prototype products. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved throughout the design process, from early concept and detailed design through to integration, prototype build and validation.

The Role

You'll work across both mechanical and electrical design, helping develop practical engineering solutions for machine and vehicle applications. You'll work closely with project, build and validation teams and have the opportunity to see your designs progress from concept through to working hardware.

What we're looking for

• Experience in both mechanical and electrical design


• Experience within a product development environment


• Experience taking designs from concept through to detailed design and integration


• Experience with engineering drawings and design documentation


• Background in automotive, off-highway, heavy-duty equipment, industrial machinery or similar


• Experience working on prototype, demonstrator or pre-production products


• Creo experience is highly desirable, although other CAD experience will be considered


• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem solving


• Good communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
