Job summary

PE Global is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading multinational manufacturer of industrial machinery, based in Peterborough. This is a 12-month contract, fully onsite in Peterborough.

The role involves translating requirements into electrical designs for electrified systems, creating schematics and harness definitions, and ensuring machine-level integration. Strong Creo skills and HV safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience delivering electrical design in a product development environment.
Strong knowledge of harness architecture, release and manufacturing documentation.
Proficiency using Creo for harness routing and drawing creation.
Understanding of HV electrical safety, insulation coordination and creepage/clearance.
Background in automotive, off-highway, heavy-duty equipment or industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

Translate system requirements into detailed electrical designs for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and harness definitions including connectors and pinouts.
Ensure electrical designs integrate effectively at machine level and resolve routing/interface constraints.
Work closely with project, build and validation teams throughout development.
Investigate build and integration issues, determine root causes and implement robust design solutions.
Participate in design reviews, prototype builds and engineering change activities.
Support machine build, commissioning and validation programmes as required.
Work across multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic development environment.
