Job summary

M-Sport UK, based at Dovenby Hall, seeks an Event Electrical Technician to support international motorsport programmes. You will diagnose faults, maintain electrical systems and keep competition vehicles reliable during testing and events around the world.

Working with engineers and mechanics, you will perform wiring harness work, pre-event checks, fault finding under time pressure and produce post-event reports to drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in crimping, soldering and harness assembly using high-spec components and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and harness layout drawings.
  • Highly organised and delivery-focused with a commitment to quality and reliability.
  • Analytical and methodical approach to fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads and perform under time pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Event Electrical Support: diagnose faults, repair and replace wiring harnesses and electrical components.
  • Vehicle Preparation: perform extensive pre-event electrical checks for reliability.
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics: resolve electrical issues in workshop and live events.
  • Spares Management: maintain event electrical spares and ensure critical components are ready.
  • Technical Reporting: produce post-event reports on performance and issues.
  • Harness Manufacture & Repair: build, repair and modify wiring harnesses from drawings.
  • Engineering Collaboration: work with Electrical Supervisor and Engineering Team on improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: contribute to electrical system and process improvements across programmes.
