Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design LV and HV networks for residential, commercial and industrial developments across the UK. You will produce SLDs, circuit and wiring diagrams, carry out earthing assessments and ensure designs meet G81, ENA and NERS standards.

You will liaise with DNOs/IDNOs, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers while supporting project delivery and design approvals from adopting authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in LV/HV electrical network design within the UK utility sector.
• Strong understanding of UK DNO/IDNO network requirements and standards.
• Experience designing electrical distribution networks, substations and earthing systems.
• Ability to interpret UK electrical standards, regulations and industry codes of practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design LV and HV networks for developments.
• Produce design documentation including SLDs, diagrams and cable schedules.
• Carry out earthing assessments and ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop network and substation designs per G81 and ENA rules.
• Obtain design approvals from DNOs/IDNOs and authorities.
• Provide technical advice to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate designs with other utilities for multi-utility delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and trainees.
• Support tendering activities with technical input.
