Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the Manchester team. The role involves designing LV/HV electrical networks, power generation and distribution systems, and DC systems for BESS projects, with close collaboration across Projects, Sales, Service, clients, DNOs and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, experience with LV/HV systems, and knowledge of protection schemes.

Qualifications

HND / City & Guilds Level HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience within an engineering or construction environment.
Strong AutoCAD experience with the ability to produce accurate electrical drawings.
Experience using Trimble and/or Amtech.
Experience working with LV and HV electrical systems.
Knowledge of electrical protection schemes and cable sizing.
BESS / battery storage experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Designing and developing LV and HV electrical networks.
Designing power generation and distribution systems.
Designing DC systems for BESS projects.
Producing electrical designs, drawings and technical documentation.
Developing LV/HV protection schemes.
Undertaking cable sizing.
Preparing specifications for switchboards, transformers and other electrical equipment.
Liaising with clients, DNOs and suppliers.
Carrying out site visits to support design development.
Updating drawings and documentation to reflect as-built installations.
Supporting Projects, Sales and Service teams with technical requirements.
