Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for energy and power applications, based in Lancashire. You will design electrical systems, prepare schematics, and select equipment for grid-connected and renewable energy projects.

Experience with battery storage, power electronics, and protection schemes is highly valued. Proficiency with AutoCAD or EPLAN is essential, with exposure to LV/MV systems and grid interaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design for energy/power systems.
• Knowledge of LV/MV, AC/DC systems and protection.
• Proficient with CAD tools (AutoCAD/EPLAN).

Job description

Electrical Design Engineer - Energy & Power

Location: Lancashire

A good background would include some of the following:

• Electrical system and power distribution design
• LV and/or MV systems
• AC and DC electrical systems
• Single-line diagrams and electrical schematics
• Cable sizing and electrical calculations
• Switchgear and protection
• Equipment selection and specification
• AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar electrical design tools
• Power conversion equipment, inverters or PCS
• Battery storage or renewable energy systems
• Grid-connected electrical systems
• Experience with BESS, renewable generation, UPS, power electronics, industrial power or other complex electrical systems would be particularly relevant.
