Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer in Manchester to lead mechanical design across CHP, Tri-Generation and Battery Energy Storage Systems. The role covers from concept to commissioning, with exposure to diverse energy projects and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will manage specifications, PFDs/P&IDs, and CAD coordination, while supporting safety, budget, and supplier relations.

Qualifications

Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
5+ years in energy projects, power generation or similar.
Experience with pipework and ventilation design.
Experience in technical project management and design development.
Knowledge of CDM and health & safety requirements.
Proficient with AutoCAD 3D.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design of energy projects from concept through commissioning.
Produce engineering specifications and technical documentation.
Create PFDs and P&IDs.
Develop functional and technical design documents.
Coordinate CAD design activities and site surveys.
Support safety assessments and budgeting; ensure cost-effective design delivery.
Liaise with project managers, suppliers and clients.
Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting.
