Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services

The Company

One of my very good clients in Edinburgh is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team and work on various Building Services projects. They are expanding due to increased workload. If you have a background in the MEP sector and want to progress, please apply.

Role Requirements

• Good understanding of engineering and design practices relevant to electrical discipline.
• Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD 3D routed system models, including cable containment, penetrations, and supports, adhering to ISO standards and project policies.
• Create 2D electrical installation and fabrication drawings from 3D models, including material schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering colleagues and stakeholders during the design phase.
• Develop innovative design solutions and resolve technical issues.
• Report progress and issues to management.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental standards are met.
• Assist with ship surveys for system validation.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Building Services Degree.
• Relevant industry experience or apprenticeship.
