About the role

Our team shapes projects that connect communities and impact daily life for millions. Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Electrical Design Engineer and build new futures. This role can be based from any of our regional offices across England and Scotland.

To create electrical designs and procure specialist packages in heavy industries.

What you'll be doing

1. Design LV electrical distribution systems
2. Create documentation such as specifications & datasheets, cable calculations & schedules, drawings (via CAD team), review and check manufacturer documents for compliance with project specifications
3. Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers

Who we're looking for

1. Proficiency in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign
2. Focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and project teams to deliver cost-effective and acceptable design solutions
3. Effective communication skills at all levels, with clear and succinct writing
4. Promotion of innovation and continuous improvement in design
5. Excellent IT Skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
6. Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and regulatory material
7. Experience in heavy industries such as Petrochemical, Power Generation, Renewables, and Nuclear
8. SC security clearance or ability to achieve clearance
9. Design of HV electrical systems
10. Use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software
11. Use of Dialux or Relux software
12. Use of SKM, ETAP, Digsilent, PSCAD software
13. Design of ATEX systems
