Job summary

Options Resourcing Ltd is partnering with a Central London building services consultancy to recruit Electrical Design Engineers at Intermediate, Senior and Principal levels. You will develop electrical designs from concept to detailed design, produce calculations and drawings, and coordinate with designers, architects and clients.

Hybrid working is available after probation, with salary bands reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services electrical design from concept to detailed design.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and design calculations.
• Familiarity with building regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Developing electrical designs from concept through to detailed design.
• Producing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Designing electrical systems including power, lighting, containment and life safety.
• Equipment sizing, load calculations and electrical infrastructure design.
• Considering low-carbon technologies and sustainability within designs.
• Using AutoCAD and Revit to produce and develop design information.
• Coordinating designs with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and other members of the design team.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, manufacturers and utility providers.
• Attending design meetings and site visits.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate.

Electrical Design Engineers - All Levels

Location: Central London

Salary: Up to GBP50,000 - Intermediate Up to GBP60,000 - Senior Up to GBP75,000 - Principal

The Role

We are working with an established building services consultancy based in Central London that is expanding its electrical design team and is looking to appoint Electrical Design Engineers at Intermediate, Senior and Principal level. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to join a consultancy where they can take responsibility for technically challenging building services projects, with the level of responsibility and salary reflecting your experience. Whether you're an Intermediate Engineer looking to develop your design experience, a Senior Engineer ready to take greater responsibility for projects, or an experienced Principal Engineer looking for a technical and project leadership position, there are opportunities available.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing electrical designs from concept through to detailed design
• Producing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical schedules
• Designing electrical systems including power, lighting, containment and life safety systems
• Equipment sizing, load calculations and electrical infrastructure design
• Considering low-carbon technologies, energy generation and sustainability within designs
• Using AutoCAD and Revit to produce and develop design information
• Using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, IES or equivalent
• Coordinating designs with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and other members of the design team
• Liaising with clients, contractors, manufacturers and utility providers
• Attending design meetings and site visits
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate

At Senior and Principal level, you will take increasing responsibility for leading design packages, coordinating projects and supporting junior engineers. At Principal level, you will also take responsibility for project leadership, resources, fees and client relationships, acting as a key point of contact across multiple projects.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with building services electrical design engineers at all levels, from experienced Intermediate Engineers through to Senior and Principal Engineers.

You should have:

• Building services electrical design experience
• Experience working on projects from concept through to detailed design
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and design calculations
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Knowledge of relevant Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE guidance
• An understanding of sustainability and low-carbon building design
• Good communication and coordination skills
• A relevant Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering degree

For Senior and Principal positions, experience leading projects, coordinating design teams and mentoring junior engineers is required.

CIBSE or IET membership and progression towards chartership is desirable.

Salary & Benefits

• Intermediate: up to GBP50,000
• Senior: up to GBP60,000
• Principal: up to GBP75,000
• 24 days annual leave + bank holidays
