Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join its Building Services consultancy team in central London. You will design electrical building services, perform calculations, and prepare drawings and schedules, collaborating with architects, contractors, and clients from concept to completion.

The role involves coordinating with design teams, attending meetings and site visits, and ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, IES, or similar.
• Understanding of lighting, power, fire alarms, containment, and life safety systems.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards, CIBSE guidance, and sustainable design principles.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical building services designs, calculations, drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Carry out electrical load calculations, containment sizing, equipment sizing and circuit protection analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, utility providers, and external consultants to coordinate designs.
• Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure designs meet project brief and regulations.
• Support projects from concept through to completion in line with Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.

Our client is looking to appoint an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their growing Building Services' consultancy team. The successful candidate will work on a varied portfolio of projects, including high-end residential developments, commercial schemes, mixed-use projects, and health and leisure facilities. You will be responsible for the production of electrical building services designs, including calculations, technical drawings, specifications, and schedules. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support projects from concept through to completion, carrying out electrical load calculations, containment sizing, equipment sizing, circuit protection analysis, lighting and power design, fire alarm systems, and low-carbon technology assessments. The role will involve regular collaboration with architects, contractors, utility providers, and external consultants to coordinate designs and resolve technical issues. You will also attend project meetings and site visits to ensure designs are delivered in accordance with the project brief, Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.
