Job description

Working within AB Dynamics’ Electrical and Electronic Design Engineering team, you will develop technologically complex, high-value products from conception through to production. These projects often involve a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Project Engineers. You will primarily work on robotic projects for our Track Test Department and Kinematics & Compliance projects for our Lab Test Department, which supplies OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with R&D equipment for automotive development.

What will you be doing?

1. Resolve complex design problems, prepare concept designs, and produce complete systems and/or products using primary electrical and electronic design (wiring loom and PCB design) and secondary software and mechanical design.
2. Create detailed electrical/electronic schematics and PCB layouts following design for manufacturability practices.
3. Collaborate with Suppliers and ABD’s Manufacturing, Test, and Commissioning departments to source, manufacture, calibrate, deliver, and support our products.
4. Prepare and submit documentation for Engineering Releases, including engineering calculations, detailed drawings, parts lists, test reports, design reviews, regulatory compliance documentation (risk assessments, FMEA, LVD, EMC, etc.), build manuals, and installation manuals.
5. Support the manufacture of prototypes and final products through a busy manufacturing department.
6. Assist our global customers using AB Dynamics’ products in the field, collaborating to develop solutions and envision future product ideas for their automotive R&D needs.

What are we looking for?

• A Degree-qualified Engineer in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering disciplines. Exceptional candidates with relevant experience and/or HND qualifications will also be considered.
• Experience in Electrical CAD & Electronic PCB design. Practical experience and a willingness to learn design are also valued.
• A passion for design, good analytical skills, and the ability to liaise across engineering disciplines. Creativity and determination to succeed are key attributes.
