Job Description

Role Overview

Working within AB Dynamics’ Electrical and Electronic Design Engineering team, you will develop technologically complex, high-value products from conception through to production. These projects often involve a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Project Engineers. You will primarily work on robotic projects for our Track Test Department and Kinematics & Compliance projects for our Lab Test Department, supplying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with R&D equipment for automotive development.

What will you be doing?

• Resolve complex design problems, prepare concept designs, and produce complete systems and/or products utilizing primary electrical and electronic design (wiring loom and PCB design) and secondary software and mechanical design.
• Create detailed electrical/electronic schematics and PCB layouts following design for manufacturability practices.
• Collaborate with Suppliers and ABD’s Manufacturing, Test, and Commissioning departments to source, manufacture, calibrate, deliver, and support products.
• Prepare and submit documentation for Engineering Releases, including calculations, detailed drawings, parts lists, test reports, design reviews, regulatory compliance documentation (risk assessments, FMEA, LVD, EMC, etc.), build manuals, and installation manuals.
• Support the manufacture of prototypes and final products through a busy manufacturing department.
• Assist global customers using AB Dynamics’ products in the field, collaborating to develop solutions and future product ideas for automotive R&D.

What are we looking for?

• A Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering, or equivalent experience/HND qualifications.
• Electrical CAD & Electronic PCB design experience, or practical experience with a willingness to learn design.
• A passion for design, good analytical skills, ability to liaise across disciplines, creativity, and determination to succeed.
