Job Overview

This specialist building services design consultancy is looking for a junior or intermediate electrical design engineer to join their friendly, experienced team. They work on diverse projects including military manufacturing plants, data centres, marine engineering departments, engine design suites, and large plant rooms. A core focus is low carbon design.

Responsibilities

1. Undertake electrical design work such as surveys, design, drawings, and specifications, including calculations for cable sizing and lighting.
2. Attend project meetings with clients, design team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
3. Carry out site surveys to gather relevant information for scheme design.
4. Develop detailed scheme designs to facilitate competitive tenders.
5. Write specifications for works.
6. Seek opportunities to learn and develop engineering skills.
7. Focus on low carbon design principles.

Experience Required

1. Building Services Degree, Electrical Design Degree, or related higher qualification (HNC/HND).
2. At least 2 years of electrical design experience within building services.
3. Ability to maintain good working relationships.
4. Technical skills including electrical calculations, drawings, and specifications.
5. Full UK driving license.
