Job summary

Bimplus in Birmingham is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to support decarbonisation and energy-led retrofit projects within public sector estates. You will contribute to electrical design delivery, calculations, drawings, and reports, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet sustainability goals.

With 2-5 years' experience, you will work toward Chartered status (CIBSE/IET) and gain exposure to Amtech, Dialux, and Revit while developing practical low-carbon solutions and

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience within electrical building services design.
• Interest or experience in decarbonisation and retrofit projects.
• Understanding of UK building regulations and design standards.
• Experience with Amtech, Dialux or Revit.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Desire to progress towards Chartered status (CIBSE/IET).

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design delivery across decarbonisation and retrofit projects.
• Assist in developing low-carbon electrical solutions, including electrification and renewables.
• Produce calculations, drawings, reports and technical documentation.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and asset upgrade strategies.
• Work with clients and project teams to support delivery of sustainability objectives.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, sustainability consultants and engineers.
• Attend site visits and support project delivery.
