RGB Recruitment Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a building services consultancy. You will design electrical building services, develop calculations, specifications, and deliver projects from concept to construction.

The role offers a hybrid working pattern with 2 days in the office and 3 days at home, plus the opportunity to progress within a reputable MEP consultancy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical building

Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services

Location: Birmingham

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days home

The Role

The Electrical Design Engineer will join an established Electrical team and contribute to the design and delivery of building services projects across a range of sectors.

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing electrical building services designs across a range of project stages
• Developing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
• Working on lighting, small power and general electrical building services
• Contributing to projects from initial concept through to detailed design and completion
• Working closely with other members of the MEP design team
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and other project stakeholders
• Attending project and client meetings and confidently presenting technical information
• Supporting the delivery of projects to programme and agreed technical standards
• Contributing to design development and identifying practical engineering solutions
• Working towards increased responsibility and progression within the business

The Candidate

The ideal Electrical Design Engineer will have a strong background in building services design and be looking for an opportunity to develop their career within an established consultancy.

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of 4 years' experience within building services electrical design
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services
• Experience working within a building services consultancy or similar design environment
• Good understanding of electrical design principles and project delivery

• Confidence when attending meetings and presenting technical information
• A professional and personable approach when dealing with clients and project teams
• The ambition to progress towards Senior level
• The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider MEP team
